Zenora Reavis King

Mrs. Zenora Jones Reavis King 78, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mrs. King was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 16, 1931 to the late John (Buster) and Nora Power Jones. She was a member of Williams Grove Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. Mrs. King was employed by Jonbil for 18 years and then became involved in home healthcare for the elderly. Mrs. King was first married to Claude S. Reavis in 1945; this union was blessed with five children. In 1982 she married Wesley M. King. She was preceded in death by her son, Claude S. Reavis III, and one grandson, St. Christopher Reavis. Cherishing her memories are four children, Mary Blackwell (Clarence), Gloria Scott (Willie) all of Chase City, VA, Theodore Reavis (Patricia) of Chatham, VA and Patricia Gee (James) of Kenbridge, VA.; five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Gladys Anderson of Warren, OH; two brothers, John W. Jones of Warren, OH and Willie E. Jones of Pinetta, FL; one brother-in-law, Milton Crutchfield; a devoted friend Leslie Pettus; three step-daughters, two stepson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Zenora Jones Reavis King will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Williams Grove Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Dr. Frank S.  Harrison, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service 1304 North Main St., Chase City, VA.
