Woodrow W. Tucker

Mr. Woodrow W. Tucker, Sr., 87, of Chase City departed this life on October 21, 2023 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill.

Mr. Tucker was born in Chase City on October 28, 1935 to the late Samuel and Mary Tucker. He was educated in the Mecklenburg County school system, and was a member of Silone Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee. Mr. Tucker was a former truck driver and auto mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and repairing cars.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Thomas Tucker; a grandchild, Allen, and his siblings, Fitzhugh, Alex, Leonard and Creola Tucker

He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Woodrow, Jr. (Michele) of Union, NJ, Victor of Chase City, and Brian (Ivy) of Roselle, NJ; his grandchildren: Sean, Carrie, Tyler, Simena, Josh, Jamie and Amirah; a host of great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Adalene Tucker of San Diego; brothers-in-law, Ronald, Alvin and Tyree Thomas of Chase City, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Woodrow W. Tucker will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City with Rev. Linda Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City. Public viewing will begin on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M.
