Woodrow Linwood Harris

Mr. Woodrow Linwood Harris, 78, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center, Chase City, VA. Mr. Harris was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 4, 1939 to the late Charles Lee Harris, Sr. and Marie Walker. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was previously employed by Lawson Jones, C&S Construction was self-employed, cutting puck wood for many years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by seven brothers, Willie, Herman, Charles, Eddie, Richard, Albert James and Otis, and four sisters, Mamie, Bessie, Margaret and Nancy. Cherishing his memories are his devoted wife of 48 years, Patricia Harris of Chase City, VA; three sons, James Wilson (Niecey) and Marvin Wilson (Eleanor) all of Roxboro, NC and Willie Hilliard (Sharraine) of Buffalo Junction, VA; two daughters, Annette Osborne (Mathew) of Boydton, VA and Lethera Dokes (Robert) of Roxboro, NC; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Redd (Elijah) and Mary Ann Shields all of Clarksville, VA and Odell Penick (John) of Chase City, VA, friends thought of as daughters, Mable Hilliard, Sam Atkinson and Sheree Crawley; a host of nieces and nephews, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Woodrow Linwood Harris will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 8, 2017 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Homes, Chase City, VA with Rev. Tywanda Jefferson officiating. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
