Wilmer Venetia Sydnor Gross

Ms. Wilmer Veneta Sydnor Gross, 84 of College Park, MD entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 17, 2021 at her residence. Ms. Gross was born in Richmond, VA January 5, 1937 to the late Richard Sydnor Sr. and Ella Watkins Sydnor. She was a graduate of West End High School and also Saint Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA. Ms. Gross was a retired legal clerk for the federal government. At an early age she joined Saint Mark Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA; she also attended Embry AME Church, College Park, MD. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and was a heritage project volunteer. In addition to her parents, Ms. Gross was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Everette; her sisters, Ruby, Loretta, Gloria, Barbara and Annella. She leaves to cherish her memories devoted friend, Elwood Gross; two daughters, Maxine and Delphine Gross; one granddaughter, Abigail Cohen; son-in-law, Neil Cohen; two sisters-in-law, Carol Sydnor and Sarah Royster; brother-in-law, Hubert Wynn, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday November 21, 2021 at Saint Mark Baptist Church Cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Darrell Howard, officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Embry AME Church Scholarship Fund, 5051 Lakeland Road, College Park, MD 20740. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
