Willie Robert Oliver

Mr. Willie Robert Oliver, 77, of Victoria, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Chase City Health & Rehab.

Mr. Oliver was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on February 11, 1947 to the late Carrie Bacon. He received his early education in the Lunenburg County public schools and later gained employment as a Supervisor at Burlington Industries, where he served for nearly 30 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, passion for helping others, getting the job done, and making sure that all those around him enjoyed as many laughs as possible.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his brother, Earnest Oliver, and a sister, Nancy Roberts.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Oliver, and his brothers, Hodges Bacon (Terri) and Lester Bacon (Janie). He is also survived by the children he was a father figure to, Anthony Marrow, Babette Pleasant, Diathe Garnes, Tarsha Stone, Terrence Garnes, Khalil Williams, Shaheed Williams, and Dequan Williams, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Willie Robert Oliver will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Sharon Baskerville, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. Public viewing will begin on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
