Willie Mack Skipper

Mr. Willie Mack Skipper, 79, of Saxe, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 at the Woodview, South Boston, VA.  Mr. Skipper was born in Charlotte County, VA July 28, 1929 to the late Lonnie and Mattie Saunders Skipper. He attended Charlotte County Public Schools, was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA, and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Skipper was a dedicated truck drive for approximately 30 years.  Mr. Skipper was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers; Elnora Daniels, Beatrice, John, Earl, Lee Skipper and Joe Crawley.  He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Rosa Marie Taylor (Bill) of Glen Allen, PA., Mattie Currin (Ross) of Saxe, VA., Susan Skipper of Red Oak, VA., and Deborah Skipper of Saxe, VA.; two sons, Mac Arthur Skipper of Washington, DC and Albert Skipper of Drakes Branch, VA.; seven grandchildren, Tabitha, Dominique, Shawn, Roszette, Sable, Sade and Ryan Skipper; two sisters, Alma Staten of Saxe, VA and Josephine Paige of Newark, NY; devoted friends, Frank Jeffress and Herman Wilson and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Mr. Willie Mack Skipper will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. John Craighead, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main St., Chase City, VA.
