Willie Harris Sr.

Mr. Willie Harris Sr., 83 of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Chase City Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Harris was born in Mecklenburg County, VA Nov. 19, 1932 to the late Charlie and Marie Walker Harris. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA. He was previously employed by Cardinal Homes for 22 years and was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers. Cherishing his memories are his wife of 61 years, Annie Mosley Harris of Red Oak, VA; one daughter, Elaine Harris of Chase City, VA; four sons, Willie Harris Jr., Edward Lee Harris and Melvin Harris all of Red Oak, VA and William James Harris (Sandra) of South Boston, VA; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ann Shields and Marie Redd (Elijah) of Skipwith, VA, and Odell Penick (John) of Chase City, VA ; one brother, Woodrow Harris (Patricia) of Chase City, VA; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Harris will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Roger L. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
