William (Roy) Henry Howerton

Mr. William Henry Howerton (Roy), 86 of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Howerton was born in Mecklenburg County, Aug. 22, 1926 to the late Alexander and Bessie Royster Howerton. He attended Saint Mark School in Buffalo Junction, VA and was a member of Saint Mark Baptist Church where he previously served as a Trustee. Mr. Howerton retired in 1989 from Lakeview Motors, Clarksville, VA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army In addition to his parents, Mr. Howerton was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie “Lynn” and Tommie “Tit” Howerton and a son-in-law, Carnell Royster. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Marian Watkins Howerton of Buffalo Junction, VA; two daughters, Arlene Royster of Bullock, NC and Carolyn Day (Lawrence) of Nelson, VA; one grandson, Jeffrey Lamar Royster of Greensboro, NC; one brother, James Samuel “Bo” Howerton (Mary) of Buffalo Junction, VA; sisters-in-law, Norma, Bernice and Sutlyn Howerton, Nettie Pierce and Marie Watkins and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. William Henry Howerton (Roy) will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Glenn L. Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Mark Baptist Church Cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA. Viewing for Mr. Howerton will be on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
