William Price Long

Mr. William Price Long, 72, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, March 21, 2014 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Long was born in Mecklenburg County, VA March 4, 1942 to the late Alice Long.  He was a 1961 graduate of West End High School and a member of Concord Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired security guard and car salesman. He was preceded in death by his mother. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Martha H. Long; an adopted son, Gary Long of Bronx, NY; one aunt, Christine G. Long of Chase City, VA; devoted cousin, Mildred S. Waye of Victoria, VA; his church family and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. William Price Long will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode, officiating.  Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA.  Public Viewing for family and friends will be held Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Service 11:00 A.M.
