Mr. William Alexander Skipwith, Sr., 80, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Commonwealth Senior Living, South Boston, VA. Mr. Skipwith was born in Clarksville, VA on September 29, 1941 to the late Armstard and Katie Jones Skipwith. He was a graduate of West End High School in Skipwith. He attended Virginia State University, and was a retiree of the U. S. Government Publishing Office. Mr. Skipwith was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a history buff who in his spare time enjoyed painting, reading, drawing and landscaping. In addition to his parents, Mr. Skipwith was preceded in death by his sister, Annie B. Porcher and two brothers-in-law. He leaves to cherish his loving memory a daughter, Judith Elizabeth Skipwith of Alexandria, VA; son, William Alexander Skipwith, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, Armstard C. Skipwith of Bryans Road, MD; two sisters, Sallye S. Goode of Clarksville, VA and Clara B. Yancey of Ft. Washington, MD, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services with limited seating of 50 will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 18, 2021 at C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Dr. Linda E. Thornton officiating. Interment will follow 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
