Wilbur Tucker

Mr. Wilbur Tucker, 76 of North Chesterfield, VA and formerly of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, April 17, 2014 at VCU/MCV Hospitals, Richmond, VA. Mr. Tucker was born in Boydton, VA September 6, 1937 to the late Topsey Tucker. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA; at an early age he joined Lands Chapel RZUA Church, Boydton, VA. Cherishing his memories are two children, Mary M. Evans (Freddie) of Richmond, VA and Beatrice L. Jackson of Danville, VA; five grandchildren, Antwan Goode, Jamel Goode, Latoria Johnson, Damien Goode and Adam Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Anizja Lee, Jordan Johnson and James Johnson; three sisters, Margaret Jeffries (Kenneth) of Burlington, NC, Bessie Mae Brown (Hannie) of Georgia and Ruth Annette Townes of Newark, NJ; two aunts, Mary Jane Simmons and Irene Fields and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Wilbur Tucker will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Lands Chapel RZUA Church, Boydton, VA with Bishop Maurice Nicholson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
