Mr. Welton Davis Jones, 76, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, April 27, 2017 at VCU/Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Jones was born in Charles City, VA February 21, 1941 to the late Wallace W. and Hallie M. Johnson Jones. He attended the schools of Charles City, VA and was a retiree of Schwerman Trucking. Mr. Jones enjoyed hunting, working on cars and spending time with family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by two sons, Kim and Kevin and four brothers, Walter, Roosevelt, Lewis and Lloyd. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Vera Jones of Boydton, VA; two sons, David Jones (Yvonne) of Waldorf, MD and Troy Jones (Trina) of Sandston, VA; three daughters, Brigitte Jones, Yvette Parham both of Richmond, VA and Wendy Land of Gallup, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Craddock of Charles City, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Welton Davis Jones will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Andy Hargrove, officiating. Burial will follow in Little Elam Baptist Church Cemetery, 8840 Church Lane, Charles City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
