Wanda Michelle Hester

Miss Wanda Michelle Hester, 61, of Chase City, VA answered God’s call to eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Miss Hester was born in Paterson, NJ July 20, 1959 to the late Grady Hester, Jr. and Doris Duke Hester. She was a 1977 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School, Skipwith, VA. Wanda was previously employed by Nipro Glass Americas, formerly Wheaton Tubing, for 20 years where she was a lead auditor. Wanda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, Bingo, Candy Crush and playing cards. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Hester; grandmother, Carrie Hester and her nephew, Andre High. Cherishing her memories are her daughters, Zakeeah Darden and Zakeema Hester; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Winifred Dodson (Minister Reginald) and Wendolyn Hester; brothers, Bryan Hester and Byron Hester, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA (seating will be limited) with Minister Reginald Dodson delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be on Saturday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A mask will be required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
