Wanda Annette Terry

Mrs. Wanda Annette Terry, 48, of Nelson, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Terry was born in Mecklenburg County, VA July 9, 1961 to the late John Ray Henderson and Etta Speede Henderson. She was baptized at an early age and was a faithful member of Wharton Memorial Baptist Church. She served as a Deaconess, a mother of the church, head of kitchen committee, Sunday school teacher, and corresponding secretary. She once served on the usher board and was an intercessory prayer partner with her mother, her sister, Shirley and five other women every week. Wanda worked for many years at Sales Knitting in South Boston, VA, she was a former employee of Burlington Industries and John Umpstead in Creedmoor, NC. From 1999-2004 she was a business partner with her sister in S & W Fashion Parlor. Since then she has owned and operated “Jessie’s” Beauty Supply Store and drop-off/pick up dry cleaning service in Clarksville, VA. Wanda was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who loved being around her family and friends. She always gave an encouraging word to all those who knew her. One of her favorite scriptures is Psalm 91:16 “With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.” She was a fervent prayer warrior and loved the Lord with all her heart. Cherishing her memories are her husband of 30 years, Jessie Terry of Nelson, VA; two sons, Travis of Clemson, SC and Donte of Nelson, VA; her parents Ervin and Etta Watkins of Nelson, VA; two brothers, Kenneth Henderson (Angela) of Henderson, NC and Rodney Henderson of Durham, NC; two sisters, Shirley Rogers (Larry) of Henderson, NC and Cherri Pearson (Chris) of Nelson, VA; four sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.   Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Annette Terry will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, Nelson, VA with Rev. James A. Hudson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wharton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Arrangements are by C.H.
