Mr. Walter Thaddeus Crutchfield Jr. 61, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA Mr. Crutchfield was born in Mecklenburg County, VA July 10, 1944 to the late Walter Sr. and Alma Hayes Crutchfield. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, graduating at the age of 14, he went on to receive his AA degree from Voorhees Junior College, Denmark, SC and later attended South Carolina Technical Trade School. He was a former employee of Timberlake Masonry, Chase City, VA. Cherishing his memories is his wife, Joanne Crutchfield of Chase City, VA; four daughters, Dr. Delia Gillis (Robert) of Kansas City, MI; Kim L. Howard (Bennie) of Washington, DC; Melody Y. Crutchfield of Silver Spring, MD, Kelly Y. Crutchfield of Chase City, VA; one son, Walter T. Crutchfield of Chesapeake, VA; five grandchildren, four sisters, Lois Hayes-Howerton, Hyattsville, MD, Shirley Hardy (Kelsey), Chase City, VA, Yvonne Grant, Franklin, VA, Gloria Townsend, Washington, DC, three nieces, three nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Walter Thaddeus Crutchfield Jr. will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 4, at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Mary Alice Moseley, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
