Walter Leroy Fields

Mr. Walter Leroy Fields, 73, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston. Mr. Fields was born in Clarksville, VA July 26, 1945 to the late John and Hattie J. Fields. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, and was a member of Saint Level Baptist Church, Clarksville. Mr. Fields was a former machinist at Jenkins Valves, and an Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ana L. Freeman Fields; and eight siblings, John, Jr., Joseph, Thomas, Jerome, Rosa Lee Osborne, Shirley Walker, Marion Fields, and Betty Mae Walker Osborne. Cherishing his memories are one son, Terence L. Fields of Richmond, VA, two daughters, Angelia Fields-Hargrove (Demetrius) of Clayton, DE, and Sharyn C. Fields of Hartford, Ct; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nine siblings, Annie Jenkins and James Fields ( Peggy) all of Chase City; Flordell Watts of Red Oak, Elaine Bullock and Elnora Shearin both of Clarksville, Dorothy Parrish (Willie) of Boydton, Alice Fields of Bridgeport, CT, Catherine Fields of South Hill and Marshall Fields of Skipwith; his girlfriend, Gail Townes, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Walter Leroy Fields will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Saint Level Baptist Church, Clarksville with Rev. Toney Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville.
