Walter Edward Smith

Mr. Walter Edward Smith, 80, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at VCU/MCV Medical Center, Richmond, VA. Mr. Smith was born in  Virginia on February 13, 1934 to the late Ernest and Maggie Mosley Smith.  He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Clarksville, VA.  Mr. Smith was a retired farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Percell Smith, Robert Lee Smith and Richard Smith and one sister, Viola Walker. Cherishing his memories are his  wife, Ida Bernice Smith of Clarksville, VA; six children, Donald Smith (Odene), Brenda Reed (Gary) and Troy Smith (Johanna) all of Clarksville, VA, Phyllis Fields (Wayne) of Townsville, NC and Carrie Stith (Ben) and Maggie Hayes (Harvey) both of Red Oak, VA; step-children, Steven Small (Wanda), Charlie Small (Terri), Kevin Small and Eric Small (Vakesha);14 grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren, one sister, Ardelle S. Langston of Philadelphia; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Walter Edward Smith will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Clarksville, VA with Jim White, officiating   The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the start of the service at the hall. Arrangements are by C. H.
