Virginia Oliver Liggon

Mrs. Virginia Oliver Liggon 71, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at VCU/MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Liggon was born in Mecklenburg County, VA July 3, 1937 to the late Louis and Naomi Oliver. She was a retiree of Jonbil, Inc. and a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA.   Mrs. Liggon was preceded in death by a son, David Liggon; one brother, James Oliver and one sister, Annie Oliver.   Cherishing her memories are her husband, Mr. Fielder C. Liggon of Chase City, VA; four children, Teresa Somerville (Rudolph Jr.) of Halifax, VA, Fielder Liggon Jr. (Ila) of Boydton, VA, Lawrence Liggon (Brenda) of Chase City, VA and Rex Liggon Sr. (Mariette) of Clarksville, VA; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Hattie Liggon of Richmond, VA and Lucille Ogburn of Skipwith, VA; two sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Oliver Liggon will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA.    Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main St., Chase City, VA.
