Virginia Moore Canty

Mrs. Virginia Moore Canty,91, of Newburgh, NY formerly of Nelson, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, May 6, 2006 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus, Newburgh, NY. Mrs. Canty was born in Nelson, Virginia June 12, 1914 to the late Frank and Susan Yancey Perry. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served in the Missionary Ministry, Senior Choir and founder of the Floral Ministry. She was a former employee at Sylcox Nursing Home, Newburgh, NY and a retired employee of Wassaic State School District. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse, Matthew and Willie. Cherishing her memories are two nieces, Katherine Singletary of Trenton, NJ and Regenia Perry of New Orleans, LA; two Nephews, Charles Perry of Philadelphia, PA and James Perry of Oxford, NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Moore Canty were held Monday, May 15, 2006 at Rhodes Funeral Home, New Windsor, NY.
