Virginia Alice Coaxum

Mrs. Virginia Alice Coaxum, 81, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, September 21, 2018 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Mrs. Coaxum was born in Chase City, VA March 14, 1937 to the late Willie A. and Lona J. Bridie Russell. She was a graduate of West End High School, Clarksville, VA and a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coaxum was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Coaxum, two brothers and five sisters. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Herman Coaxum of Chase City, VA; four sons, Jeffrey and Reginald Coaxum both of Yonkers, NY, Darrell Coaxum of Chase City, VA and Herman Coaxum, Jr. of Danville, VA; one daughter, Monique Coaxum (Reginald Smith) of Chase City, VA; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary B. Smith of Skipwith, VA and Lillian C. Brannan of Yonkers, NY, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Alice Coaxum will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Bishop Charles R. Scott officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
