Virgie Jean Murray

Ms. Virgie Jean Murray, 75, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at her residence.

Ms. Murray was born in Buffalo Junction, VA on July 6, 1948, the 9th of ten children, born to the late William Henry and Marie Hillard Murray. She received her education in the Mecklenburg County public schools, and was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Buffalo Junction, VA. Ms. Murray was formerly employed by the former Meadowview Terrace (now Clarksville Health & Rehab), retiring in 2014 with 14 years of service. She later gained employment at Mecklenburg County High School in Baskerville, VA in food service. Virgie was a sweet spirit who would help anyone, anyway she could.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory one son, Tim Murray of Clarksville, VA; sister, Addie M. Roberts of Clarksville, VA; a host of loving nieces and nephews; devoted friends, Shirley Small and Leonard Hargrove, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Virgie Jean Murray will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2024 at St. John Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. DeMario Covington, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 2:00 P. M. until 6:00 P.M.
