Victor R. Powell

Mr. Victor R. Powell, 92, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at his residence.Mr. Powell was born in East Orange, NJ June 15, 1914 to the late Manassa J. Powell and Hettie White Powell. He was a retired Mecklenburg County Extension Agent and a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, Boydton, VA, where in previous years he had served as the church clerk. He also was a veteran of the United States Army.Cherishing his memories is his wife of 63 years Cordelia K. Powell of Boydton, VA; two sons, Robert Frederick Powell of Boydton, VA and Michael Jerome Saafir of Durham, NC; six grandchildren, three-great grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.Funeral services for Mr. Victor R. Powell will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Saint Paul Baptist Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Ethelbert Carter, officiating. Burial will follow 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Knox Family Cemetery, Purdy, VA.Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th Clarksville, VA.
