Tyrone Atkins

Mr. Tyrone Atkins, 73, of Richmond, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Atkins was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on May 25, 1951 to the late Martha Lee Webb. He attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a retiree of Canada Construction Contractors, Inc. with 52 years of dedicated service. Mr. Atkins enjoyed fishing, playing his numbers, and holding several conversations at one time, just to name a few.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha A. Thomas, Angela D. Webb and Jane E. Broadie.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Armenta Starkes Atkins of Richmond, VA; four sons, Darrell Atkins, Jeremy J. Atkins, Tyrone Atkins, Jr. and Eric C. Atkins all of Richmond, VA; one daughter, Crystal J. Atkins of Richmond, VA; three step-daughters, Brittany Starkes, Shanell Starkes and Natasha Starkes; eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister, Paula Webb of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing will begin on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until 12:45 P.M.
