Thomas Lee Morton, Sr.

Mr. Thomas Lee Morton, Sr. (Tommie), 79, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in Virgilina, VA. Mr. Morton was born in Randolph, VA on March 26, 1938 to the late John Dewitt Morton and Lucille Matilda Mosley. He attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and later relocated to New York, where he retired from AT&T as a foreman. Mr. Morton enjoyed fishing and bowling with friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Morton was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Jane Custis Morton and one son, Thomas L. Morton, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Debra Miles (Henry, Sr.) of Edenton, NC and Barbara Salotto of Gastonia, NC; two grandsons, Henry Miles, Jr. and Cedric Miles (LaDonica) of Virginia Beach, VA; two great-grandchildren, one brother, John Douglas Morten of Waynesville, MO; three sisters, Alma Garland, Marie Holland and Joan Jackson all of Columbus, OH; one sister-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Lee Morton, Sr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 26, 2017 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Dr. James A. Hudson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Henry Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Randolph, VA. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:30 AM until service time. Public viewing will begin on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
