Thomas Lee Bowers

Mr. Thomas Lee Bowers, 62, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Bowers was born in Mecklenburg County, VA Oct. 8, 1945 to the late George Lee and Mildred Williams Bowers. He was a 1963 graduate of West End High School and attended Virginia State College. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Bowers was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Boydton, VA and was a retiree of Farmers Foods, Inc. of Chase City, VA.   Cherishing his memories is a sister, Florence Bowers Saunders of Chase City, VA; two nephews, Derrick Bowers of Bronx, NY and Lenny Carter of Richmond, VA; two nieces, Carroll B. Holtzclaw of Hampton, VA and Karla Bowers-Malone of Chase City, VA; three great nephews and two great nieces, one aunt, Hattie Williams of New Jersey and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.   Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Lee Bowers will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 4, 2008 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Tyrone Pulliam, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 until 4 P.M. at Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA.   Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
