Thomas Garfield Smith

Mr. Thomas Garfield Smith, 54, of Clarksville entered eternal rest on Friday, December 20, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Smith was born in Mecklenburg County on April 13, 1965 to the late Annie Smith. He was a 1983 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, and a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Clarksville. Mr. Smith was a gentle giant who was a jack of all trades; he was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. In addition to his mother, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Mullins. Cherishing his memories are his siblings, Wanda Mullins, Lisa Mullins and William Mullins all of Clarksville; seven aunts, Ester M. Venable of Richmond, Debra Jean Venable of New Mexico, and Mary Byrd, Emily Royster, Bernetha Mullins, Magnolia Mullins and Linda Hayes all of Clarksville; five uncles, Harry Byrd, Samuel Royster, Robert Mullins all of Clarksville, Leroy Barnes of South Carolina, and Earl Smith of Warsaw; four nieces, two nephews, two great-nephews, devoted cousin, Antwan Royster, and a vast number of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Garfield Smith will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Clarksville with Rev. Raymond A. Roberts, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville.
