Thomas Francis House, Sr.

Mr. Thomas Francis House, Sr., 75, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, September 20, 2021 at his residence. Mr. House, affectionately known as “Tom”, was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on October 10, 1945 to the late James Edward and Louise Ardell Brown House. He attended East End High School in South Hill, VA, graduating class of 1964. He moved to Washington, DC and gained employment as a Stationary Engineer. He relocated back to VA in 2006, working for Morgan Lumber Company. Mr. House was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. He served in the US Army, and was a Vietnam veteran. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching western movies, oldie but goodie music, dancing, and working with his hands. In addition to his parents, Mr. House was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Deborah Ingram; brother, James House, and sister-in-law, Joyce House. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife, Mintie Izilia House of Red Oak, VA; son, Thomas Francis House, Jr. of Silver Spring, MD; two stepchildren, Leon Cooper (Kecia) of Silver Spring, MD and Elder Tracey Collins (Pastor Rodney) of Winston-Salem, NC; six grandchildren; two brothers, Alphonso House of Richmond, VA and Donald House (Renae) of Boydton, VA; six devoted sisters in Christ, Loretta Bailey of Red Oak, VA, Ann Brown of Washington, DC, Patricia Brown and Helen Thompson both of Chase City, VA, and Dorothy Foster and Marlene Thomson both of Red Oak, VA; sister-in-law, Eunice L. House of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Francis House, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Salem Baptist Church Pavilion, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Loretta Bailey delivering the eulogy. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
