Thomas Edward Crutchfield, Sr.

Mr. Thomas Edward Crutchfield, Sr., 83, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mr. Crutchfield was born in Boydton, VA on March 10, 1936 to the late James Edward and Hazel Mosley Crutchfield. He was a 1955 graduate of West End High School in Skipwith, VA, and at an early age joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Boydton, VA. Mr. Crutchfield was a former truck driver for A.E. Morris Hauling, Inc. In his spare time he enjoyed playing checkers, and was known for his “styling & profiling”. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crutchfield was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Walter and James Crutchfield. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Bettye Jean Sands Crutchfield of Clarksville, VA, son, Thomas Crutchfield of Boydton, VA; daughter, Deborah C. Duncan (Roger) of Boydton, VA; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; one sister, Edith Simms (Alva) of Williamsburg, VA; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Tucker of New Jersey and Shirley Hester of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Edward Crutchfield, Sr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 24, 2020 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Earl Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Crutchfield Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Viewing will be private. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
