Theresa D. Freeman

Mrs. Theresa D. Freeman, 67, of Mount Vernon, NY and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, November 30, 2020. Mrs. Freeman was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on April 28, 1953 to the late Melvin and Clara B. Hayes. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and at an early age joined Williams Grove Baptist Church in Chase City. Upon relocating to Mount Vernon, she faithfully attended Emanuel Pentecostal Faith Temple. She met and married John R. Freeman, and to this union no children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, John R. Freeman of Mount Vernon, NY; goddaughter, Abrecia Hayes of Mount Vernon, NY; also godson, Jonathan and Kenya Hayes of Stroudsburg, PA; stepmother, Edith Hayes of Victoria, VA; five sisters, Thelma Fuller (William), Dorice Hayes and Annie Fuller (Ralph) all of Mount Vernon, NY, Alma Mayo of Baskerville, VA and Melvina Hayes of Victoria, VA; three brothers, Calvin Hayes of La Crosse, VA, Kenneth Hayes (Mary) of Stroudsburg, PA and David Hayes of South Hill, VA; three step-brothers, Ramond, Ray and Frank Lambert, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mrs. Theresa D. Freeman will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Williams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA with Pastor Andy Hargrove officiating. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required for all viewings and services. We ask that you adhere to all guidelines, and practice social distancing. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
