Thelma Virginia Penick Bailey

Mrs. Thelma Virginia Penick Bailey, 73, of Chase City Virginia entered eternal rest on March 2, 2015 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA.  Mrs. Bailey was born in Charlotte County, Virginia on May 5, 1941 to the late John Louis and Annie Mae Sneed Penick. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, Virginia and was a member of Harpers Temple Apostolic Church, Clarksville, Virginia and also a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Bailey, one son, two sisters, one brother and one granddaughter. Cherishing her memories three children, Mary Saunders (Kevin), Diane Mayfield (Jimmy) all of Chase City, Virginia and Gracie Walker of Clarksville, Virginia; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Mamie Cheatham of Chase City, Virginia; two brothers, John Thomas Penick (Odell) and Jessie Penick all of Chase City, Virginia and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Virginia Penick Bailey will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 6, 2015 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Elder Vernell Harper, officiating. Burial will follow in Harper’s Temple Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Services 11:00 A.M.
