Mrs. Thelma Juanita Pearson, 70, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Pearson was born in Red Oak, VA Nov. 16, 1935 to the late Charlie and Katie Wilson Gayles. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Mrs. Pearson was a retiree of the Dept of Commerece, Washington, DC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colon Pearson, four sisters and one brother. Cherishing her memories are two sons, Rev. Kevin W. Pearson of Red Oak, VA and Stephen C. Mosley of Washington, DC; three grandchildren, two sisters, Henrietta Mosley and Clara Wills of Washington, DC; two brothers, Clarence Gayles of Newark, NJ and Jesse Gayles of Red Oak, VA; two daughters-in-law, one sister-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma J. Pearson will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Harry L. Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
