Thelma Hamlett Marshall

Ms. Thelma Hamlett Marshall, 46, Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at VCU/Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Ms. Marshall was born in Farmville, VA February 26, 1971 to the late Fred J. Stokes and Ruby Roberts Hamlett. She attended Charlotte County Schools and at an early age joined Tabernacle Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA. Thelma was a former employee of Russell Stover Candies, Clarksville, VA. She enjoyed listening to Rock and Roll and Crossword Puzzles. In addition to her parents, Ms. Marshall was preceded in death by her step-father, Paul Hamlett Sr.; a daughter, Betty Jane Marshall; two grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Ann Jennings. Cherishing her memories are two children, Ruby Marshall of Chase City, VA, Christine Marshall-Brogdon (Darrell) of Keysville, VA; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Marrow of South Hill, VA and Ernestine Walton (Denny Sr.) of Saxe, VA; four brothers, Eugene Hamlett (Evelyn) of Victoria, VA, Paul Hamlett Jr. (Virginia) of Saxe, VA, Kenneth Hamlett (Annette) of Meherrin, VA and Joseph Hamlett of Chase City, VA; devoted cousin, Sylvester Ferrell and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Giles-Harris Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97 Chase City, VA. A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 P.M., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Galilee Baptist Church, Randolph, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA.
