Thelma Christine Hargrove

Ms. Thelma Christine Hargrove, 76, of Newark, NJ entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at East Orange General Hospital. Mrs. Hargrove was born on July 27, 1944 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Edgar Hargrove and Julia Daniels Hargrove. She relocated to Newark, NJ in the early seventies with her late sister, Annette Elaine Murray, and her brother-in-law Wilson J. Murray to raise her only son, Reginald Gene Hargrove, along with her niece, Shelia Murray of Painted Post, NY, and her nephew, Sean Wilson Murray of Union, NJ. In addition to them, she was the aunt to Kevin “Squeaky” Hargrove of Clarksville, VA and Shannon Hargrove Scott of Henderson, NC, as well as a host of great nieces and nephews. She leaves to cherish her memories two brothers, Henry Wallace Hargrove of Newark, NJ and Johnnie Leonard Hargrove of Henderson, NC; an adopted brother Johnnie C. Newton of Newark, NJ, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Ms. Thelma Christine Hargrove will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 3, 2021 in the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Andy Hargrove officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating will be limited , and a mask will be required for all viewings and services.
