Teresa Laverne Liggon Somerville

Mrs. Teresa Laverne Liggon Somerville, 66, of Halifax, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Somerville was born in Chase City, VA February 5, 1956 to the late Fielder, Sr. and Lue Virginia Oliver Liggon. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and received her Certificate of Practical Nursing from Southside Virginia Community College. Mrs. Somerville worked a number of years as a CNA and LPN between Community Memorial Healthcenter and Warren Hills Nursing Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to the beach, and caring for her fur baby, Socks the cat.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Liggon.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Rudolph V. Somerville, Jr. of Halifax, VA; two children, Carlos L. Somerville (Shirley) of Farmville, VA and Dr. Kristy N. Somerville-Midgette (Antonio) of Clarksville, VA; siblings, Fielder Liggon, Jr. (Brenda and Ila) of South Hill, VA, Lawrence Liggon (Brenda) of Chase City, VA and Rex Liggon (Mari) of Clarksville, VA; sister-in-law, Gloria Liggon, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Teresa Laverne Liggon Somerville will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 11, 2022 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Walter L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
