Mr. Taft William Burnley, 87, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at South Boston Health and Rehab, South Boston, VA.
Mr. Burnley was born on September 13, 1935 in Red Oak, Virginia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Estella Burnley. He attended Salem School in Red Oak, VA and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Burnley was a dedicated employee of W. C. Morgan and Cliff Morgan Lumber Company, and retired from Four Oaks Timber Company in 2004. In addition to spending time with his grandchildren, he enjoyed walking, fishing, hunting, gardening, watching Western movies, and relaxing outside in the yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Burnley.
Cherishing his memories are his daughter, Co-Pastor Estell Watson (Pastor Wilbert L.) of Chesterfield, VA; Nan Stovall and Rosa Mae Darden both of Red Oak, VA whom he raised and loved as daughters, eight grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Taft William Burnley will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Pastor Roger L. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
