Ms. Sylvia Ann Oliver, 60 of Yonkers, New York, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 20, 2007 at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York.Ms. Oliver was born in Chase City, Virginia on February 16, 1947 the daughter of the late Murray Lee and Virginia Oliver. She was a teacher for 18 years employed by the Yonkers Board of Education.Ms. Oliver was preceded her in death by two sisters Iola Alexander and Gloria Greene.Cherishing her memories is her fiancée Samuel Barnes of Yonkers, New York; five children Yolanda Rosario (Ronmeal), Juan Rosario, Eduardo Rosario (Jessica), Bernice Barnes all of Yonkers, New York and Martin Gonzales (Shamik) of Poughkeepsie, New York; Five grandchildren Martin Gonzales Jr., Quashawn Rosario, Aleria Gonzales, Emonei Rosario and Quanasia Rosario; sisters and brothers: William Oliver (Emma), Harold Oliver (Mary) all of Chase City, Virginia, Darell Oliver (Cynthia) of Richmond, Virginia, Oliver Oliver of Berlin, New Jersey, Murray Oliver Jr., and Eula Walker (T.C.) of Mount Vernon, New York, Charles Oliver, Preston Oliver (Linda) and Altonia Oliver (Donna) and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.Funeral services for Ms. Sylvia Oliver will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Brother Darrell Oliver, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
