Susie Burwell Terry

Mrs. Susie Burwell Terry, 75, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Terry was born in Vance County, North Carolina, September 20, 1934 to the late Arthur and Mamie Hargrove Burwell. She attended Vance County Schools and was a member of Woodsworth Baptist Church, Townsville, NC. Mrs. Terry was a retiree of Russell Stover Candies, Clarksville, Va. In addition to her parents Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her husband, Overstreet Terry and her brother, Calvin Burwell. Cherishing her memories are six children, Thomas Terry (Erika) of Radcliffe, KY, Lawrence Terry, James Terry, Betty Terry and Daisy Terry all of Clarksville, VA, and Barbara Terry of Chase City, VA; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mamie Sherrin of Charlotte, NC; five brothers, Tommie G. Burwell (Jackie) of Henderson, NC, Arthur Burwell (Christine) of Newark, NJ, Clarence Burwell (Mary) of Kittrell, NC, Nathaniel Burwell (Shirley) of Townsville, NC and Linwood Burwell of Newark, NJ and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Burwell Terry will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 16, 2010 at St. Matthew Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Delmar Harris, officiating and Rev. Chester W. Terry delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
