Sula Morton Burton

Mrs. Sula Morton Burton, 65, of North Chesterfield, VA entered rest on Thursday, June 11, 2015.   Mrs. Burton was born in Charlotte County, VA on November 10, 1949 to the late Wade F. and Evelyn Davis Morton.  At an early age she joined Piney Grove Baptist Church in Saxe, VA. She was educated in the Charlotte County Public Schools and received her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Norfolk State University.  She taught one year in Charlotte County and 28 years in the Henrico County Public Schools System.    Cherishing her memories are her devoted husband, James Douglas Burton, Sr. (Doug) and loving son, James Douglas Burton, Jr. (Jay) of Richmond; four sisters, Ruth M. Turner of Guilford CT, Dr. Dorothy M. Drake and Debbie Morton of Richmond, and Faye Morton of Suffolk; one brother, Wade F. Morton, Jr. (Duke) of Saxe; three nieces,  Dr. Pam T. Clay, Nikki T. Lopez and Shawn M. York; one nephew: John (JJ) Drake; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; three uncles, Waverly Davis, Lin Dailey and George Cooper; two aunts, Grace Davis and Pauline Jackson and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.   Funeral services for Mrs. Sula Morton Burton will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Saxe, VA with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, Officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.    Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Services 2:00 P.M.
