Steven Toone

Mr. Steven Toone, 96, of Chase City, Virginia entered eternal rest Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mr. Toone was born in Rehoboth, VA October 16, 1915 to the late Neeley and Lucy Tisdale Toone. He attended the schools of Lunenburg County, VA and was retired from The New York Times. Mr. Toone was a veteran of the United States Army having served three years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Toone was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Braxton Toone and two children, Everett and David Toone. Cherishing his memories are his grandchildren, Lindsey Toone, Eric Toone and Whitney Toone; one great-grandchild, Jaylen Toone, a host of nieces and nephews, among them are the devoted Mildred Thomas and Marshall Terry and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Steven Toone will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
