Sterling Robert Syder

Mr. Sterling Robert Syder, 40, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, April 7, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Syder was born in Newark, NJ March 12, 1974 to the late Sterling Simmons and Ruth Jamison.  He attended Newark public schools, graduating from West Kenny High School.  He married Felicia L. Snead on April 7, 2006, and to this union three children were born. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, four uncles and one aunt. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Felicia S. Syder of Henderson, NC; four children, Tiffany N. Davis of Chase City, VA, Queyarri, Queyaeisha and Qeierra Syder of Henderson, NC; one grandson, Kaden Davis of Chase City, VA; his mother, Ruth Jamison of Baltimore, MD; step-mother, Sharon Simmons of Newark, NJ; mother-in-law, Linda Snead of Chase City, VA;  two brothers, Fuquan Jamison (Nicola) of Baltimore, MD and Rasheed Simmons of Newark, NJ; three sisters, Margaret Jamison (William) of Irvington, NJ, Rasheedah Simmons of Newark, NJ and Yolanda Baskerville of Boydton, VA; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law;  eight aunts, three uncles; numerous nieces and nephews vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Sterling Robert Syder will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Reginald Dodson, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Simmons Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.   Service 2:00 P.M.
