Solemon Alphonza Harris

Mr. Solemon Alphonza Harris, 74, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest Monday, August 20, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC. Mr. Harris was born in Mecklenburg County, VA June 13, 1944 to the late Charles and Lucy Scott Harris. He was a 1962 graduate of West End High School and attended Virginia State College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retiree of Prince George's County Police Department, MD. In 1992, he returned to Virginia and established Homeboyz Variety in 1993. Mr. Harris was a member of Saint Mark Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Bernice Harris, and a brother, Charles H. Harris. Cherishing his memories are two children, Dana R. Harris-Campbell (Troy) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Damon A. Harris (Carla) of Laurel, MD; three grandchildren, Troy and Tori Campbell and Nasir Harris; one sister-in-law, Loretta Harris, a host nieces and nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Solemon Alphonza Harris will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at St. Mark Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Darryl T. Howard, Sr. officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
