Miss Shirley Mae Lawrence, 73, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, November 4, 2013 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Miss Lawrence was born in Mecklenburg County, VA  March 3, 1940 to the late Willie B. and Julia M. Williams Lawrence.  She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a former employee of Jonbil, Inc. Cherishing her memories are one godson , Shakeem Simmons;  her siblings, Ruby Boyd, Corrine Lawrence and Jack Lawrence, all of Chase City, VA and Rosa Lawrence-Joyner of Richmond, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside funeral service for Miss Shirley Mae Lawrence will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Victoria, VA with Evangelist Shirley Williams, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Service 11:00 A.M.
