Shirley Mae Barnes

Miss Shirley Mae Barnes, 60, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at VCU/MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA. Miss Barnes was born in Chase City, VA on February 20, 1960 to the late William Edward and Luegene Osborne Barnes. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. Miss Barnes was a dedicated CNA at Chase City Health and Rehab Center. She had a heart of gold; always helping anyone in need. In addition to her parents, Miss Barnes was preceded in death by four sisters, Barbara Barnes, Lucille Puryear, Julie Barnes and Eveline B. Walker; two brothers, Joe B. Barnes and Theodore S. Barnes, and a niece, Dorothy D. Barnes. Cherishing her memories are her children, Tosharo Barnes and Thomas J. Barnes both of Chase City, VA; three grandchildren, Dhaakir Barnes of Cary, NC, Da’Quan Barnes of Chase City, VA and Nasir Baskerville of Boydton, VA; sister, Helen F. Woods of Hillside, NJ; brother, William H. Barnes of Chase City, VA; devoted family member, Ann Pamplin, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside service for Miss Shirley Mae Barnes will be conducted 12:00 Noon Monday, June 22, 2020 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA with Apostle Roxanne Barnes officiating. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
