Shirley F. Walker

Mrs. Shirley F. Walker, 52, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC.   Mrs. Walker was born in Mecklenburg County, VA, December 11, 1956 to John and Hattie Fields, she received an Associates Degree in Human Services from SVCC and was an Instructional Assistant at South Hill Elementary School. She was a member of St. Level Baptist Church, where she served on the missionary board and was a member of the choir.   Cherishing her memories is her husband, Harold Walker of Clarksville, VA; one son, Dwayne Lyons of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Tara Newton (Tim) of Concord, NC;   stepson, Harold Walker; a stepdaughter, Alicia Crowder (Frank) all of Chase City; three grandchildren, one adopted grandson; five brothers, Walter and Jerome Fields of Clarksville, James Fields (Peggy) of Chase City, Thomas and Marshall Fields of Bridgeport, CT; eight sisters, Annie Jenkins  and Rosa Osborne of Chase City, Elaine Bullock of Clarksville, Flordell Watts and Catherine Fields of Red Oak, Dorothy Parrish (Willie) and Eleanor Shearin of Clarksville,  Mary Fields of Bridgeport, CT; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley F. Walker will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 8, 2009 at St. Level Baptist Church, Clarksville VA with Rev. Toney W. Smith, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
