Shirley Ann Staten

Miss Shirley Ann Staten, 57 of Saxe, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Miss. Staten was born in Charlotte County, VA April 14, 1951 to the late Joseph and Alma Skipper Staten. She attended the Charlotte County Public Schools and was a former employee of Clover Yarns. Miss Staten was preceded in death by one sister, Gracie Staten and one brother, Nathaniel Staten. Cherishing her memories are one son, Myron Staten (Cassandra) of Drakes Branch, VA; three grandchildren, Myra Staten of Chase City, VA, Cierra Mosley and Chameer Staten of Drakes Branch, VA; her mother, Alma Staten of Saxe, VA; two brothers, Joseph Staten of Red Oak, VA and Dennis Staten (Grindl) of Drakes Branch, VA; one aunt, Josephine Paige of Newark, NJ; eight nieces, seven nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Miss Shirley Ann Staten will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 23, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
