Sarah Ivy Oliver

Mrs. Sarah Ivy Oliver, 93, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Oliver was born in Lunenburg County, VA June 14, 1918 to the late Willie and Beulah Tisdale Goode. She attended the schools of Lunenburg County, VA and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Oliver, three children, four brothers, Douglas, William, James and Alvoid; and two sisters, Maggie and Bertha. Cherishing her memories are  one sister, Arlene Goode; devoted niece and caregiver, Beulah Johnson (Leon) other nieces, Shirley Mallory (Sydnor) of Chase City, VA, Madeline Clayton of Fredericksburg, VA, Evelyn Hunt (Preston) of Meherrin, VA, Nancy Hoard (Alfonzo), Laverne Keene (Jesse) all of Richmond, VA, Maggie Tucker of Norfolk, VA and Angela Goode of Newport News, VA; one nephew, Dan Goode (Tammy) of Columbus, OH and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ivy Oliver will be conducted 12:00 Noon Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Waverly Brown, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in  Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Victoria, VA.. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
