Mr. Samuel Royster, III, 72, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at his residence.


Mr. Royster, affectionately known as “June”, was born in Granville County, NC on April 20, 1950 to Zola T. Royster and the late Samuel Royster, Jr. He attended the public schools of Granville County, NC, and was a 1969 graduate of J.F. Webb High School. At an early age, he joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 in Clarksville, VA. He remained a dedicated member, and also worked faithfully with his Mt. Ararat Baptist Church family and sang with the Male Choir. He was formerly employed by Burlington Industries in Clarksville, VA with 34 years of service. He later gained employment with Revlon in Oxford, NC, retiring with 15 years of service. He loved music, singing, and was a well-loved member of the community.


In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Royster Smith, and two brothers, Andrew Royster and Carnell Royster.


He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Emily Royster of Clarksville, VA; son, Antawn Royster and grandson, Jhaylin Burton both of Clarksville, VA; his mother, Zola Royster; brothers, Jarald Royster (Wilma) and Brian Royster (Sherrie) both of Bullock, NC; sisters-in-law, Arlene Nelson (Wayne) and Linda Hayes (Thomas) both of Clarksville, VA; brother-in-law, Robert Mullins (Bernetha), and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.


Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Royster, III will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Cornelius Ogburn, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.


Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
