Samuel Morton Brummell Iii

Mr. Samuel Morton Brummell III, 65, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Clarksville, VA. Mr. Brummell was born in Clarksville, VA on April 4, 1951 to Sally Craddock Brummell and the late Martin E. Brummell, Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of West End High School, Skipwith, VA and furthered his education at Danville and Southside VA Community College. Mr. Brummell was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2, Clarksville, VA and a former employee of Revlon, Inc., Oxford, NC. In addition to his father, Mr. Brummell was preceded in death by one step-son, Shawn Lewis; one brother, Martin E. Brummell, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Mamie E. and Edgar P. Brummell and maternal grandparents, Louise C. and John Carter. Cherishing his memories are two sons, Hassan Smalls of New York and Marcus Lewis (Joronda) of Oxford, NC; two daughters, Candace Thorpe (James) of Creedmoor, NC and Samantha Aird of Nelson, VA; two step-sons, Victor E. Lewis, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Clarksville, VA and Andre Lewis (Michelle) of Charlotte, NC; two step-daughters, Roxanne Austin (Brian) of Manassas, VA and Tawanna Larkin (Flen) of Newnan, GA; 24 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; his mother, Sally Craddock Brummell of Clarksville, VA; three brothers, Tracey D. Brummell of Fayetteville, NC, Lawrence R. Brummell (Dorothy) of Clarksville, VA and Robert M. Gerald of Nelson, VA; three sisters, Jacquetta P. Bumpass (Dennis) of Oxford, NC, Christine B. Daniel (Willie) of Nelson, VA and Mamie L. Terry (Randolph) of Clarksville; former spouse, Mary A. Jackson of Clarksville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Morton Brummell III will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at The House of Prayer, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Earl Terry, Eulogist. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M at the funeral home. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
