Salonia H. Hilliard

Mrs. Salonia Hargrove Hilliard, 75, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Hock Family Pavilion, Durham, NC. Mrs. Hilliard was born in Vance County, NC September 14, 1938 to the late Willie Hargrove and Elizabeth Henderson.  She received her education in the Vance County Public Schools and at an early age joined Oak Level United Church of Christ. She later joined Amazing Bibleway Apostolic Church in Buffalo Junction, where she served as Mother of the Church, Missionary and a Trustee.  Mrs. Hilliard was a  former employee of Russell Stover Candies and a homemaker. Cherishing her memories are her husband of 58 years, Linwood Hilliard, Sr. of Clarksville, VA; one son, Linwood Hilliard, Jr. (Tonya) of Alton, VA; three daughters, Gayle Mills (Steve) of Buffalo Junction, VA,  Mary H. Gregory and Barbara Hart (Pernell) both of Clarksville, VA;  devoted son-in-law, Calvin Gregory;  godson, Anthony Askew; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lucy Mitchell of Dabney, NC, Agnes Neal (John) of Henderson, NC, Doris Daniel of Brooklyn, NY, Ella Hilliard (Randolph) of Williamsboro, NC  and Evia Mae Terry (Woodrow) of Townsville, NC; four brothers, Leon  Hargrove(Geraldine) of Middleburg, NC ,Willie B. Hargrove, Vernon Hargrove and Marvin Hargrove (Mary) all of Williamsboro, NC; one brother-in-law, Rudolph Hilliard; two sisters-in-law; Josephine Short and Thelma Anderson; special friends Stella Venable and Shirley Johnson and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Salonia Hargrove Hilliard will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Amazing Bibleway Apostolic Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Bishop Ray T. Stephens, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.   Services 2:00 P.M.
