Sally Townes Parks

Mrs. Sally Townes Parks, 89, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, January 20, 2023 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA.

Mrs. Parks was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on August 21, 1933 to the late Jessie Townes and Bessie Richardson. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a member of New St. Douglas Baptist Church, Boydton, VA. Mrs. Parks was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, riding and eating out, and listing to the radio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Parks, five brothers, four sisters, and son-in-law, Rev. John Hargrove, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory one daughter, Diane Hargrove of Boydton, VA, two grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sally Townes Parks will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at New St. Douglas Baptist Church, Boydton, VA with Pastor Shirley G. Williams delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P. M. until 6:00 P.M.
